Editorial Standards
Purpose of the catalogue
The KUZAQ Public Domain Literature Library exists to provide free, curated access to classic travel and exploration texts. Each record includes an original editorial note intended to help readers understand the work’s content, style, and context. The catalogue does not aim to be comprehensive but to offer meaningful entry points into public-domain literature.
Scope and selection
The library currently contains 90 books drawn exclusively from Project Gutenberg. Selection favours works with strong narrative voices, geographical or historical significance, and clear relevance to the two thematic categories: World Events in Context and Exploring Journeys into the Unknown. No book has been included for commercial or advertising purposes.
Source attribution
All texts are sourced from Project Gutenberg, a digital library of public-domain works. The catalogue does not host or distribute the texts themselves but provides links to their Project Gutenberg pages. The editorial notes are original content written by the manuscript reviewer, Leo Dickens.
Bibliographic records
Each book record includes title, author(s) with life dates, publisher (always Project Gutenberg), a set of keywords assigned by Project Gutenberg, a target-reader field, and an original catalogue note. The keywords are reproduced as supplied and may not reflect current terminology. No record claims to be a complete physical description.
Category assignment
Books are assigned to one of two categories based on thematic emphasis: geography/settlement versus exploration/unknown. The assignment is editorial and not absolute; some works could plausibly fit either category. Categories are intended as navigation aids, not definitive literary judgments.
